The Sustainable Business Professional Certificate offered by the Center for Sustainability at Aquinas College provides an opportunity for managers and executives at all career stages as well as career-changing professionals who wish to deepen their understanding of the fundamentals of sustainable business. In addition to foundational courses, active learning modules focus on topics that will enhance the ability of workplace professionals to deploy new tools, frameworks and organizational strategies, as well as help them serve as change agents to move their organizations to the forefront of sustainability efforts. The format utilizes interactive learning, incorporating case studies, practice-based exercises and group exchange. The non-credit certificate is comprised of six three-hour modules.
"In this program, students will learn the fundamental materials and methods used to construct green buildings, the impact of buildings on their local and global environment, the basic tenets of sustainable construction, tools and certification systems for green buildings, and the economics of green buildings."
Common Circle Education specializes in high-quality permaculture design course.
Green Building Certification Institute provides brief training workshops on the LEED green building rating systems. After successful completion of the exam, participants obtain the title, LEED Green Associate, LEED AP, or LEED Fellow.
“The Professional Certificate in Sustainability Leadership is designed for practitioners who want to improve their skills and knowledge of "best practices" in order to lead effective sustainability initiatives in their university, corporation, community, or municipality. The program covers core areas of sustainability practice and social entrepreneurship.” This program is only available through online courses.
The University of California provides a variety of certificate programs to provide students with specialized knowledge without the large time commitment of a degree program. The Sustainable Development and Green Design Certificate "introduces the concepts and principles of sustainability through green building design, clean technologies, and innovative approaches to achieving the 'triple bottom line' -- economic, environmental and social sustainability."
